  • Summary: Excellent results
  • Comment: As owner of several ink jet printers before my present purchase, I found the actual combination of HP All-in-one Photo Smart Premium Technology with HP Ink quality very successful and hard to be surpassed. The easiness of cartridge(s) replacement and the sharp and crispy photographs I can get on my own, make the real difference between original HP ink cartridges and the several "no name" products on the market.

  • Summary: Ridiculous, only got about 50 pages on draft quality
  • Comment: I don't print very often (maybe a few pages a month), and after the original cartridges that came with my HP C6380 ran out waaaaaaay too quickly (the color ones ran out at the same speed as the black, even though I didn't print in color! imagine that...) I didn't hold high hopes for the XL cartridge. I just went back and looked at my Amazon order history and lo and behold, I ordered my current XL cartridge 5 days shy of a full year ago (09/01/09) and after maybe 50 pages tops, all but a few printed on "fast draft" quality, it is completely dry. And hey, guess what? I ordered color cartridges at the same time, have printed a page in color TWICE and they're bone dry as well!

I can handle overpaying a little for things as long as they work. But this ink cartridge racket is ridiculous. I get that HP needs to make money, but for nearly $0.75 a page I'd prefer to not buy another cartridge and print everything at work and risk getting fired. But of course, I'm an ethical person, and I have a big problem cheating my employer (and, by extension, tax payers, since I work for a governmental entity). And, unlike HP products, I work very hard for the salary I'm paid and don't want to let my employer down.

Anyone had any better luck with another printer manufacturer and their ink cartridges?

  • Summary: Solid Ink Replacement
  • Comment: There's not much exciting to say about a replacement ink cartridge, but this one is solid - quality build, easy to install, and it lasts. My fiancee and myself print a decent amount, and these cartridges lasts us a few months.

  • Summary: 564XL Photo Black is NOT the same as 564XL Black
  • Comment:
I see where several others have had this same problem. I wanted 564XL black ink, and that's what I thought I was ordering. Oops - I got 564XL "photo" black - which won't work in my Photosmart Plus printer. VERY misleading, especially since I have a "photosmart" printer (that takes 564XL ink!!!)
I realize that this is an HP problem - not Amazon - but I REALLY wish the description could make this more clear.
I ordered 564XL black - who knew there were 2 different kinds?

  • Summary: HP ink Cartridge Review
  • Comment: A cartridge isn't complicated. It either does the job or not. I don't do much other than black & white draft quality. The cartridge works just fine for that. My only compaint is the cost of replacement cartridges. It seems as though HP makes little or no profit on printers but significantly overcharges on cartridges. I believe that each product should stand on it's own pricewise. I never use refilled cartridges and will continue to buy new ones.
