Summary: Great value and performance
Comment: We have been using this Gateway NV79 for a couple months now. Amazon shipped it quickly and we set it up in no time. It works great. Windows 7 is a good operating system as well. Battery life is as good as we expected. We love the widescreen though this is a trade-off for portability of course. While we have not had the chance to use it much for video applications but have streamed a Netflix movie to the TV and the quality was as good as any source.
All in all, this is a great choice, especially for the relatively low price. We looked mostly at HP's and Dell's as alternatives and really did not consider Gateway until the price v. specs caught our eye. We have no regrets.

Summary: AMAZING PURCHASE!
Comment: I researched for months to find the "right" adult laptop for me. I'd had a Nobilis since graduating from high school and moving onto college, and now that that's done with, I figured I needed something a little bit more professional. I actually ordered an HP with the identical description plus Bluray, but cancelled it and purchased this instead. I am not disappointed in the least! This computer has been incredible! It's so fast, the controls are extremely easy to use and the 17" screen is awesome! I was hesitant to switch from a 15" to the 17" but I don't think I'll ever go back to the 15" again. The computer is classy, and the core i5 processor is a dream. Even the sound is amazing! I've had the volume cranked all the way up and the speaker don't get fuzzy. The sound is very clean. I'm in love with this laptop!
